The programs are often called “CITIZENSHIP BY INVESTMENT” programs. These programs offer you an opportunity to invest in select or specified projects spearheaded by the government of the land which would also yield returns in future. The investment could also be a specific real estate development project which can appreciate over time equally yielding you good returns on your investment. In this piece, I would talk about nine (9) of those countries, how much each program costs, the duration of processing and the number of countries that you can enter visa-free with each passport. (1). VANUATU: this passport is the most affordable among the lot with a price tag of $130,000 and it grants access to around 107-110 countries across Africa, Asia, Caribbean, South America with the European nations requiring a sticker or stamped visa in order to gain access. It takes around three months to process, being one of the fastest to obtain. (2). SAINT LUCIA: it cost around $200,000 and grants access to between 140-150 countries including the entire Schengen Area, United Kingdom, Singapore and Hong Kong. Not left out are the South American, and Caribbean countries. The processing may take an average of 6-9 months or even more as there are reportedly many delays and backlogs in the timeline. (3). DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: goes for about $200,000 and grants access to 140+ countries including European destinations (entire Schengen Area), Asia, Africa, Caribbean and South America. The duration of processing is an average of 4-6 months. (4). SAINT KITTS & NEVIS: this is the doyen and darling of all the citizenship by investment programs, the most attractive and most sought-after second passport and citizenship by investment program. Saint Kitts passport offers access to over 155 countries around the world including most destinations in Schengen Europe, Asia, South America, Caribbean and Africa. The entire process takes around 6-9 months to complete. (5). ANTIGUA & BARBUDA: this passport costs roughly around $235,000 and gives you access to over 140 countries including visa-free entry to the United Kingdom for 180 days (6 months), Schengen Europe (all 29 member states), easy visa access to countries in Asia including China, Singapore, South Korea, South America and most of the Caribbean region and the process takes between 3-6 months. (6). GRENADA: covers over 145 countries through visa-free status or visa-on-arrival including Europe, Asia, South America, Caribbean and Africa. It’s available for a sum of $245,000 and processing also takes between 3-6 months. (7). TURKEY: this passport grants easy visa access to around 110 countries worldwide including many destinations in Europe, Schengen (visa required though easy to obtain), Asia, Africa, South America and the Caribbean. However, it’s quite expensive as it comes in at a pricey $400,000 and the process is said to take between 4-9 months to process. (8). MALTA: being quite a prestigious passport that grants easy visa access to over 185 countries around the world including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Schengen Europe, Asia, Africa, South & Central America (Caribbean), this passport is equally one of the most expensive with an investment budget of $1.2 Million. This one requires continuous residency of one year (12 months) plus an additional two months to get the passport totaling 14 months of processing from beginning to end. (9). EL SALVADOR requires a direct contributory investment of $1 Million worth of bitcoin in order to obtain the passport which offers access to over 130 countries and counting including Schengen Europe, South America, Asia and Middle East and offers one of the fastest processing times available on most citizenship by investment programs as it can be completed in three months or less.
